Eva Mae Cox, 81, passed away at the Trail Regional Hospital in Trail, B.C. on April 5, 2001.
Mrs. Cox was born in Emo, Ont. on Nov. 19, 1919 and she was raised in Fort Frances area. She married Robert (Bob) Cox on June 29, 1940. They moved to Atikokan, Ont. in 1945, where she resided until Bob’s death in 1985.
She moved to Elliot Lake, Ont. for five years but returned to Fort Frances until 1993, when she moved to Trail to live with her daughter.
Eva was a long-time member of the W.I. and the U.C.W. but what she loved most was being with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; and her parents, Bill and Eva Carmody.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Bruce) Hadley of Trail, B.C.; son, Kenneth (Ann) Cox of Elliot Lake, Ont.; four grandsons, Robert Hadley of Trail, B.C., Benton (Pam) Hadley of Castlegar, B.C., Shawn (Nickey) Cox of Sudbury, Ont., and Frank (Marnie) Cox of Owen Sound, Ont.; and nine great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her brothers, Harold Carmody of Sacramento, Calif., Kenneth (Sheila) Carmody of La Vallee, Ont., and Bill (Janice) Carmody of St. Paul, Mn.; sisters, Mickey (Victor) Cross of Fort Frances, Ont., Shannon (Don) McTavish of La Vallee, Ont., Carol (Jack) Velacilh of Isabella, Mich., and Julie (Lloyd) Johnson of Portland, Ore.; and sisters-in-law, Georgina Ringuis of Atikokan, Ont., and Pat Cox of Wawa, Ont.
A Service of Remembrance was held at the Riverview United Church in Atikokan on Saturday, April 14, 2001 at 1 p.m
Cremation has taken place, with final interment in the Atikokan Cemetery at a later date.
