ETHEL ALEXANDER

Peacefully, with family by her side, our mother, Ethel Alexander, passed away at Riverside Health Care Facilties on Saturday, July 22, 2006.
Mom was born Aug. 27, 1908 in Emo, Ont. to William and Esther Louise (Allen) Wilson and lived all her life in the area.
Ethel was a wonderful wife and an exceptional mother. A truly great lady. She was an especially good homemaker, and had a great rapport with her family, friends, and young people.
Her story-telling was highly entertaining and she had the imagination of an author. She also loved to cook and bake, as anyone who ever visited can attest to.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Albert, in 1995; brothers, Ralph and Tom Wilson; sisters, Millie and Janet Wilson, and Elizabeth Bullied; granddaughter, Diana Tureski; and son-in-law, Don Moffitt.
She is survived by her daughter, Helen and husband, Peter Tureski, of Winnipeg, Man.; son, Donald and wife, Dorothy Alexander of Atikokan, Ont.; daughter, Patricia Moffitt of Fort Frances, Ont.; sister, Margaret McCormick; and 27 grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date. If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc.
For all the gifts in life, however big or small
To have you as our Mother was the greatest gift of all.
Never a mother so loving, never a heart so true
When we needed someone, we could always count on you.

We sat beside your bedside, never leaving you alone
You faced the pain with courage, and you fought until the end.
You gave us time to say good-bye
We laughed, we talked and sometimes cried.

It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

Thank you, Mom, for the years we shared
The love you gave and the way you cared
We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again.

If roses grow in Heaven, Lord
Pick a bunch with care
Place them in our Mother’s arms
And tell her we still care.
