The family sadly announces the passing of Erwin James Gouliquer, 68, on Monday, April 29, 2013 in Calgary, Alta.
Erwin was born Feb. 19, 1945 in Winnipeg, Man., and was the eldest of five children to Peter and Mary Gouliquer.
He was raised in Arbor Vitae, Ont. and at an early start he learned a strong work ethic with the sudden passing of his father when Erwin was nine years old.
Erwin worked at various jobs during his lifetime, but working as a drywaller would be his chosen career until retirement. He retired to Emo, Ont. in 2009.
He had a great passion for classic cars, owning four Ford Comets, which he proudly displayed at car shows and parades.
Erwin will be lovingly remembered by his children, Cheryl Mayhew of Ottawa, Ont. and Trevor Gouliquer of Calgary, Alta.; and siblings, Orval (Linda) Gouliquer of Finland, Ont., Cathy (Ben) Brown of Arbour Vitae, Ont., Terry (Glenda) Gouliquer of Emo, Ont., and Alvina (Nelson) Brown of Stratton, Ont.
He also is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mary Gouliquer.
A celebration of Erwin’s life was held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, with Rev. George Chojko-Bolec officiating.
Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River, Ont. at a later date.
The pallbearers were Terry Gouliquer, Leonard Strom, Nelson Brown, and Tim Gouliquer.
