ENOS R. NIGHSWANDER

Enos R. Nighswander, 68, of Barwick, Ont., passed away suddenly at the Woodside Mennonite Church following the worship service on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009.
He was born Sept. 24, 1941 at Stouffville, Ont. to Fred and Ada (Reesor) Nighswander.
On April 16, 1967, he was united in marriage to Arlene Elizabeth Good of Ohio. They enjoyed more than 42 years together.
They moved to Rainy River District in September, 1967, where he farmed near Barwick. He also will be remembered by many for teaching during the first six years of the Pineview Mennonite School.
Twelve years later, he taught for another six years, and continued part-time teaching until recent years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Arlene, of Barwick, Ont.; four sons and four daughters, Nelson, Rachel, Joanna, Rebecca, James, David (and wife, Pauline), Lois, and Philip, all of Barwick, Ont.; and one granddaughter, Sylvia.
Also surviving are his father, Fred, of Barwick, Ont.; and five sisters, Eva, Ruth (Mrs. Paul Meyer), Esther, AnnaMary (Mrs. Roy Huber), and Martha.
He was predeceased by his mother and two brothers-in-law.
In his youth, Enos accepted Christ as his Saviour and was baptized into the Mennonite church. At the time of his death, he was a faithful member and beloved brother of the Woodside Mennonite Church near Pinewood, Ont.
Funeral services are planned for Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Barwick Hall, with interment in the Pineview Cemetery.
