EMMETTE MACHULA

Emmette Machula passed away Nov. 19, 2008 in Mountain View, Calif. after fighting dementia and poor health.
He was born Feb. 18, 1922 in Fort Frances, Ont.
Emmette is survived by his daughters, Arlyss (Gregg) Chastain of Loveland, Colo. and Janice (Mark) Christensen of Penn Valley, Calif.; son, Bruce Machula of Penn Valley, Calif.; four grandsons, Chad Webb, Jasen and Ryan Christensen, and Matthew Machula; and two great-granddaughters, Jeweliana and Alayna Christensen.
Also surviving is his sister, Mildren (Allen) Rasmussen of Fresno, Calif.; and sister-in-law, Margaret Rousseau and family of Fort Frances, Ont.
He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Audrey; son, Dean Ralph; parents, Ann and Adam Machula; in-laws, Lou and Ted Orton; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Carolyn Machula; and brother-in-law, Roland Rousseau.
It was Emmette’s wish that he be cremated and his ashes scattered at sea.
He served proudly in the U.S. Army in World Wat II on Iwo Jima.
He moved his family to Santa Clara, Calif. in 1957 and spent 35 years working as an electrician for Kaiser Permanente in Cupertino, Calif.
