EMMETT FINDLAY WARREN

Emmett Findlay (“Fin”) Warren passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006.
He was born Dec. 8, 1931 in Fort Frances, Ont. and moved to Atikokan in January, 1951 to work at the Steep Rock and Caland mines for 27 years.
Fin became involved with the Atikokan Fire Department in 1952, and was fire chief for 15 years.
Fin served on the St. Patrick’s Parish Council, Atikokan Roman Catholic Separate School Board, and the senior housing board, and also was a member of the Atikokan Legion.
Fin loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed many years at his camp, “Finderosa,” on Factor Lake with his family and many friends. Fin always had a story or joke to tell and kept everyone around him smiling.
His dedication to his children and grandchildren was unsurpassed.
Fin will be very sadly missed by his loving wife, Marie, and four children, David (Kathy) Warren, Daniel (Tara) Warren, Christopher (Jodie) Warren, and Carolyn (Ben) Anderson; grandchildren, Jessalyn, Julie, Kristen, Aimee, Sarah, Jayke, Brette, Nicholas, Eli, and Emily; and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Shawn, and Jaylie.
Also surviving are his sister, Elise Pare; sister-in-law, Judy Warren; and many, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Fin was predeceased by his parents, Emmett and Deneige; and two brothers, Conrad (Margaret) and Paul.
A memorial mass was held on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006 at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Atikokan, with Fr. Florentino Ferrer officiating.
Interment to be held at a later date.
