ELSIE MURIEL MILLER

Elsie Miller, 76, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
She was born Feb. 5, 1927 in Fort Frances to the late Albert and Ella Tracy Wood. Elsie lived all of her life in Fort Frances. On March 6, 1947, she was united in marriage to Joseph Miller.
She was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church and of the St.
John’s Guild. She also was a member of the Order of the Royal Purple Lodge #139.
Elsie was avid about crocheting and knitting. She also loved her flowers, her garden, and cooking for her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Miller, on March 23, 2000; her brother, Henry; and by her two sisters, Myrtle and Edna.
Elsie is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Terry) Gaul of Orleans, Ont.; sons, Douglas of Surrey, B.C.
and Gary (Renee) Miller of Thunder Bay, Ont.; daughter, Carol (Mike) Johnson of Russell, Ont.; and son, David (Gwen) of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Tracy Gaul, Katrina, Jamie, Tyler, Tiffany, Michelle, Christopher (Faye), Joshua, and Jordan Miller, and Zachary and Caitlin Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also is survived by one brother, Carl Wood of Deka Lake, B.C.; five sisters, Helen Sterling of Calgary, Alta., Maria Erickson of British Columbia, Irene Beer of Thunder Bay, Ont., Annie Willis of Atikokan, Ont., and Beatrice (Art) Wood of Fort Frances, Ont.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 26, 2004 at 10 a.m.
at St. John’s Anglican Church in Fort Frances, with Fr. Wayne McIntosh officiating.
Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances at a later date.
Friends may visit Sunday, Jan.
25, 2004 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Pallbearers will be Tiffany, Katrina, Chris, Josh, and Jordan Miller and Kim Gosselin. Honourary pallbearers will be the Ladies of the Past Order of the Royal Purple.
