ELSIE HELENE WILSON

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie Helene Wilson, 91, of Alberton Township, Ont., on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. with family by her side.
Elsie was born on April 13, 1921 in Camper, Man. to the late Fredrick and Barbara Ulrich. She moved to Winnipeg, Man. in the early 1940s.
On Dec. 31, 1945, she married Alex (Mel) Wilson in Winnipeg. In 1946, they made their home in Alberton Township, where they raised three children on their farm.
Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling across the country in their RV and visiting many family and friends. Mom also loved sewing, knitting, and making any kind of crafts, including knitting sweaters for her grandchildren.
Mom/Grandma will be sadly missed by everyone around her.
Elsie was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Hoplock; brother, Arnold Ulrich; brothers-in-law, Mike Hoplock, Vernon Wilson, and Walter Markowski; and sister-in- law, Eileen Ulrich.
Elsie is survived by her husband, Alex (Mel) Wilson of Alberton Township, Ont.; two sons, Gerry (Cathy) Wilson of Alberton Township, Ont. and Brian Wilson (Evelyn) of Fort Frances, Ont.; one daughter, Cheryl (Lyndon) Hughes of Fort Frances, Ont.; eight grandchildren, Kari-Lynn (Shane) Beckett, Mandy (Greg) Hammer, Jeremy Wilson, Ashley Wilson (Austin), and Travis, Melissa, Tylar, and Timothy Hughes; and five great-grandchildren, Morgan and Hayden Beckett, and Logan, Corbin, and Lucy Hammer.
She also is survived by one sister, Adeline Markowski of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Agnes Wilson of Eastern Ontario; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Rev. Barb Miller will officiate, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
The honourary pallbearers will be all of Elsie’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
