ELIZABETH LOVE GLUEHEISEN

It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Glueheisen announces her passing on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at her home.
She was born Nov. 13, 1928 in Glasgow, Scotland to the late William and Annie Terris, attending high school in Garrowhill.
Prior to her marriage, she was a dance instructor with the Thomson School of Dancing. And after many years of hard work, her patience was rewarded when she played understudy to the star dancer of the Pantomime, “Cinderella,” in the King Theater in Glasgow.
On May 20, 1946, she married serviceman Milton Glueheisen in Mure Memorial Church in Garrowhill, Scotland.
On Oct. 1, 1946, she joined her husband in Canada and lived at Clearwater Lake, near Emo, Ont., until 1948, when they moved to Fort Frances, Ont. where they continued to live.
She taught dancing for several years in Fort Frances.
Elizabeth enjoyed gardening and fishing at her cabin on Rice Bay. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed birdwatching. She also enjoyed baking “goodies” for the grandchildren, earning the nickname “Grandma Cookies.”
Elizabeth was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents; brother, Edward; sister-in-law, Cathie; daughter-in-law, Kim; granddaughter, JoAnna; and brother-in-law, Murtis Marsh.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Milton and her four sons, LeRoy (Donna), Larry (Shirley), Leonard (Janice), and Lance (Jamie); as well as grandchildren, Tara, Kyle, Jennifer, Jonathan, Tammy, Len, Christopher, and Michael, and great-grandchildren, Brayden, Riley, Tanner, McKenna, Madison, Jonah, Soleil, and Sterling.
She also is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Marsh of Eveleth, Mn.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Pastor David Groff officiated, with interment in the Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
The pallbearers were Betty’s grandchildren, Jennifer Soderholm, Tammy Glueheisen, Tara Pitre, Len Glueheisen, Jonathan Glueheisen, Kyle Glieheisen, Christopher Glueheisen, and Michael Glueheisen.
