ELIZABETH ‘LIZZIE’ LOUGHEED

Elizabeth Lougheed, 93, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 23, 2001 with her family and friends at her side.
She was born Sept. 1, 1907 in Stratton, Ont. to the late John and Elizabeth Wardman. In September, 1927, she was united in marriage to Nathaniel Lougheed.
Elizabeth enjoyed sewing for family and friends. She also very much enjoyed her flowers, and was an avid gardener. She loved her church group and her neighbours.
She was predeceased by her husband, Nathaniel, on April 28, 1958; and by her four brothers and four sisters.
Elizabeth leaves behind her children, Elsie and husband, Cal Claypole, of Thunder Bay, Ont., Donald of Stratton, Ont., Allan and wife, Irene, of Thunder Bay, Ont., John and wife, Judith, of England, and Gary and wife, Pat, of Ottawa, Ont.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Pearl Wardman of Fort Frances, Ont.; one brother-in-law, Ken Chatfield of B.C.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Mr. Bruce Waddell, Audrey Robbins, and Pat Romanufa will officiate, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends may visit Monday, Feb. 26, 2001 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Morken, Leonard Stafford, Carman Neilson, Clarence Shrumm, Don Strom, Steve Both, and Ross Stafford.
