Elizabeth Boucher, 54, of Sabaskong First Nation, Ont., passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 1998 at McKellar General Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ont.
She was born Dec. 13, 1943 at Sabaskong First Nation to the late John and Annie Shebagegit. On Aug. 1, 1976, Elizabeth was united in marriage to William Boucher.
She always enjoyed being with her family.
She was predeceased by one son, Neil Shebagegit, on Dec. 21, 1990.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, William Boucher of Sabaskong First Nation, Ont.; three sons, Bill Boucher Jr. of Thunder Bay, Ont., Wayne Boucher and Robert Boucher, both of Sabaskong First Nation, Ont.; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Boucher of Sabaskong First Nation, Ont.; and two grandchildren, Nicole Arch and Karmyn Kelly Shebagegit.
She also is survived by three brothers, Maurice Shebagegit and wife, Elizabeth, Jimmy Shebagegit, and Norman Shebagegit, all of Sabaskong First Nation, Ont.; three sisters, Florence Churchill of Upsala, Ont., Louise and husband, Albert, of Sabaskong First Nation, Ont., and Rose and husband, David, of Whitefish Bay, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A traditional burial ritual was held Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998 in the morning at the Sabaskong First Nation Gymnasium at Sabaskong First Nation. Elder Harry Windigo officiated, with interment in Sabaskong First Nation Cemetery.
A wake was held Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998 from 4 p.m. at the Sabaskong First Nation Gymnasium.
