ELIZABETH ‘BETTY’ MILROY YOUNG

Betty Young, formerly of Lower Manitou Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Port Hardy, B.C.
Betty was born to the late Thomas and Edith McCallum on Sept. 24, 1934 in Winnipeg, Man.
On April 24, 1967, she was united in marriage to her husband and companion in adventure, Andrew Clive Young (Andy), who survives her.
Betty loved her life on Lake Manitou, and together she and Andy built and operated the Manitou weather station, where they often resided year-round. She was known for her pioneer spirit and as a friend by all who frequented the lake.
Her flower gardens were a sight to behold.
Betty also was devoted to her best canine friend and companion, Lulu, who misses her greatly.
Betty is survived by her dear husband, Andy; two sisters, Edith McClelland and Shirley Schultz; and numerous nieces and nephews
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Betty’s life will take place in Fort Frances at a later date.
