ELIZABETH BEATRICE ARMSTRONG

Elizabeth Armstrong, 84, of 610 First St. W., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 1997 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
She was born Dec. 10, 1912 in Sleeman, Ont. to the late Joseph and Anna Triskle. Elizabeth was raised in Sleeman and on March 17, 1934, was united in marriage to Victor Armstrong.
Elizabeth and Victor lived in Sleeman until 1962, when they moved to Thunder Bay, Ont. until January, 1979, moving back to Rainy River District and settling in Fort Frances.
Elizabeth enjoyed the friendly family card games, knitting, cooking, and reading new recipes (and making changes she thought might improve them.) She also enjoyed spending time at the cabin.
Most of all, she loved her family, and spending time with them and their families.
She was predeceased by her husband, Victor Armstrong (June 28, 1984); seven brothers, John, Frank, Joe, George, Ken, Edward, and Alex Triskle; and one sister, Lillian McIntosh.
Elizabeth is survived by her three daughters, Betty and husband, Arnold Brown, of Fort Frances, Ont., Doreen and husband, Reg Kaus, of Sleeman, Ont., and Margaret and husband, Richards Ganyo, of Eagan, Mn.; one son, Robert Armstrong and wife, Wilma, of Thunder Bay, Ont.; six grandchildren, Laureen, Diane, Robbie, Lisa, Beth, and Kristin and their families; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Freeberg of International Falls, Mn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 2, 1997 at 2 p.m. at Knox United Church in Fort Frances. Rev. Patrick Playfair officiated, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Pallbearers were Robert Carroll, Dennis Jodoin, Andrew Cordeiro, Robbie Armstrong, Andy Cordeiro, and Wayne Triskle.
Honourary pallbearers were all of her family and friends.
