ELIZABETH ANN (BETTY) DERENDORF

April 3, 1949 – November 23, 2006
It is with a feeling of loss and blessing that the family announces the passing of Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Derendorf on Thursday, November 23, 2006, at the age of 57 years.
After her rediagnosis with cancer, she never gave up hope and fought the most courageous battle of her life while putting her faith in God’s hands. After being dealt many hardships, Betty never complained, but remained optimistic and fought harder.
Betty was born April 3, 1949 in Fort Frances, Ontario to Alphonse and Frances McPherson. In 1967 she was united in marriage to Bill Derendorf. She devoted her life to raising their daughters, Margie and Cindy. She welcomed into her heart and home her two sons-in-law, Jim Caul and Steve Boyum whom she treated as the sons she never had.
She was a beloved Grandma to Brady and Lexi Caul, Wyatt and Gina Boyum, who will miss her dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and showed her support in all of the activities they participated in. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their lake home.
She is survived by her sisters, Shirley Bruyere, Joan (Ralph) Bruyere, Audrey (Don) Maksymchuk, twin sister Marie (George) Supinski, foster sister Jeannie (Ken) Nicholson, and her brother Wes McPherson.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother John McPherson and an infant brother.
Betty was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Council and Catholic Women’s League and was the parish secretary for twenty years.
A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 followed by burial in the parish cemetery.
