ELISABETH KLUG

Elisabeth Klug was born Nov. 15, 1912, the fifth child of Johann and Anna Gogl. She passed from her life at the age of 93 on Tuesday, April 11, 2006.
Elisabeth was raised in Tulln an der Donau, Austria, where she met her future husband, Friedrich Klug. The two were married on Dec. 3, 1933 at the Lutheran Church in the Dorotheagasse, Vienna, Austria.
Elisabeth and Friedrich had three children, Helmut, Inge, and Fred. While in Austria, Elisabeth was a homemaker and helped with their painting business in Tulln.
On April 8, 1953, the family moved to Canada and bought the George Campbell farm on Off Lake Road near Emo, Ont. Elisabeth was very involved with the farm and kept a well-maintained and productive garden.
She was an excellent cook and baker. She also enjoyed fishing, hiking, and spending time with her family.
Later in her life, Elisabeth moved into the Golden Age Manor in Emo, where she enjoyed walks along the Rainy River up until her passing.
Her husband, Friedrich, as well as her parents, siblings, and grandsons, Richard Klug and Donald Klug, predeceased her.
Elisabeth is survived by her children and their spouses, Helmut and Inge Klug of Winnipg, Man., Oliver and Inge Schminke (nee Klug) of Shellsburg, Iowa, and Fred and Judy Klug of Emo, Ont.; grandchildren, Erick, Kyle, and Heidi Schminke, and Elizabeth Adam (nee Klug) and James Klug; as well as great-grandchildren, Drew, Timothy, Dawne, Sarah, Daniel, Katrina, and Fletcher.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Knox United Church in Emo, with Rev. Frances Flook officiating.
Interment will take place in Emo Cemetery in Emo.
