It is with great sadness that the family of Eleanor Firn Chabot (nee Arnold) announce her sudden passing on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 in her Fort Frances, Ont. home.

On Oct. 10, 1959, Eleanor was united in marriage to Cyril Joseph Chabot, the love of her life. During their 51 years of marriage, they raised six children.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Cyril; and children, Becky Chabot, Bonnie Allan (Barry), Brent Chabot (Melodie), Belinda Thompson (Boyd), and Bobbie Jo King (Reggie).
Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, Rodney Stamarski, Danielle Stamarski, Savannah Fortner, Jennifer Allan, Chelsey Allan, Larissa Tait, Michael Chabot, Brittany Chabot, Kincaid Robinson, Kayla Robinson, Lyle Thompson, Michelle Thompson, Sheldon Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Natashia Thompson, Woden Bateman, Nikita Bateman, Hailey King, and Shelby King; and six great-grandchildren, Jameer, Jalan, Jordan, Teyara, Jaiden, and Nevaeh.
Also left to cherish her life are numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many close friends.
Eleanor was predeceased by her baby girl, Bridget Helen Marie; and sisters, Elsie Dustin (Herb), Rita Arnold, and Gladys Whalen (Dean).
Eleanor spent her life devoted to her husband, children, and great-grandchildren. She took pleasure in the simple things, writing letters to her children and reading romance novels.
She also loved to cook and always looked forward to family gatherings (lots of grandchildren to do the dishes).
She will be sadly missed by all who love her.
A celebration of her life will take place Friday, Nov. 25, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the Sunset Country Métis Community Centre, 714 Armit Ave., Fort Frances.
Do not mourn for me, this was God’s plan. I laid my head on his shoulder to rest awhile and he took me to a better land.
Live all your days as if they are your last, it may be God’s plan.
