EILEEN JEAN MARTIN

Eileen Jean Martin passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 at her home in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Eileen was born Feb. 27, 1916 in International Falls, Mn. to Arthur and Jennie Anderson. She grew up on the family farm in Burriss, Ont.
She was a member of the Knox United Church in Fort Frances, Ont., Redwing Rebekah Lodge 109, and the Humanitarian Services.
Eileen is survived by her daughter, Gerry (Ed) Armstrong of Thunder Bay, Ont.; sons, Rod (Marg) and Frank (Renee) of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Lyle (Betty) of Fort Frances, Ont.; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sister, Fern (Angus) Hyatt of Fort Frances, Ont.; brother, John (Helen) of International Falls, Mn.; brother-in-law, Ted Grenier of Fort Frances, Ont.; daughter-in-law, Dianne of Thunder Bay, Ont.; and special family friends Brent and Batty Sand of Thunder Bay, Ont.
On Sept. 22, 1933, Eileen was united in marriage to Alexander Martin in International Falls, Mn. He predeceased her on July 27, 1989.
She also was predeceased by her mother, Jennie and step-father, John Patterson; her oldest sons, Donald and Arthur; sisters, Ethel and husband, William Stephenson, Myrtle and husband, Bill Miller, and Darlene Grenier; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Theo and Marg Martin, John and Joan Martin, Inez and Fred Tribe, Gladys and Wallace Allan, and Charles Brown and Frank Sheridan.
At Eileen’s request, there will be no service. A private family burial service will be held at a later date.
