It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eileen Emily Alexander (Oien) on January 19, 2022, after a severe stroke that took away her quality of life. Mom had been residing at Riverside Health Long Term Care in Emo Ontario.

Mom was born in Tovell Township and lived there for a brief period and later her family relocated to a farm north of Stratton.

Mom was the most selfless and giving person you would want to meet and generous to a fault. She was patient and forgiving. Mom’s faith in God was evident in her life.

We remember our mother as one who always put others ahead of herself.

Mom held many skills such as baking, canning, milking cows, picking berries, gardening and creating meals out of very limited resources.

Mom was predeceased by her husband of 73 years Alvin Alexander; parents Ted and Annie Oien; mother-in- law Edna Alexander; daughter Sharon Morken; son-in-law Don Morken; grandson Lyle Morken; granddaughter Shari’s husband Joe Reynolds; great-grandson Ashby Reynolds; son-in-law Ken Fisher; son-in-law Melvin Morken; sisters Vivian O-Donnell (Vern), Bernice Salchert (Ted), Gladys Bigelow (Dan); brothers Ken Oien (Helen), Noel Oien (Lenore); brothers-in-law Ray Robinson, Eugene St. John, Norman Alexander, Cecil Wilson; and sister-in-law Shirley Wilson.

Mom leaves to mourn her children Fred Alexander (Ruth), Evelyn Fisher, Eleanor Morken and Lawrence Alexander; as well as her twin sister Evelyn St. John; sister June Robinson; and sister-in-law Muriel Alexander. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Because of COVID-19 there will be no funeral service. A graveside gathering will be held in the summer.
