EILA AUNE HAKKARAINEN

Eila Aune Hakkarainen, 85, of Emo, Ont., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Emo Health Centre.
Eila was born in Finland on Dec. 3, 1929 to Kalle and Jenni Hakkarainen.
She grew up in Finland and became a nurse. She later immigrated to England, where she worked as a nurse for 11 years.
She also went to Scotland and was educated in midwifery.
Eila immigrated to Canada and worked for the Red Cross Hospital in Red Lake, Ont. in 1970. In 1975, she relocated to Emo and began working at the Red Cross Hospital, where she remained until retirement in 1995.
She enjoyed collecting specialty plates and going out for dinner in fine restaurants with friends.
Eila is survived by several siblings in Finland and many good friends here in Emo.
As per Eila’s wishes, cremation has taken place and her ashes will be return to her birth home in Finland.
