Edward Benedict Michaluk, 88, of Rainycrest Long-Term Care, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at his residence on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011.
Ed was born June 30, 1922 in Fort Frances to the late John and Annie Michaluk. He grew up in Fort Frances and later moved to Atikokan, Ont., where he raised his family.
He had worked in both Atikokan and Fort Frances.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He also was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and the Royal Canadian Legion.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Edward’s life will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
