EDNA RUTH BROWN

With family and sister, Shirley, by her side, Edna Ruth Brown, 82, of Riverview Manor in Rainy River, Ont., passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Rainy River Health Centre in Rainy River.
Edna was born Aug. 7, 1929 in Nelles Township, Ont. to the late Antoine and Florrie Lauzon. She had 13 siblings.
She was united in marriage on May 19, 1948 to Henry A. Brown. Together they raised seven sons.
She had worked as a cook for a few summers at various tourist camps, and for one summer on the Ark.
She is survived by their children, Gary (Judy) Brown of Nestor Falls, Ont., Benjamin (Cathy) Brown of Pinewood, Ont., Nelson (Alvina) Brown of Stratton, Ont., Edward (Corey) Brown of Rainy River, Ont., Vernon Brown and companion, Janice Kenty, of Rainy River, Ont., Bradley (Patti) Brown of Stratton, Ont., and David (Debbie) Brown of Stratton, Ont.
Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Rissanen and Shirley Armstrong; sisters-in-law, Michele Lauzon, Yvette Lauzon, and Peggy (Phil) Bellamy; brothers-in-law, Robert Brown and Lawrence (Maxine) Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Edna was predeceased by her parents, Antoine and Florrie; her husband, Henry; sisters, Ruby Gaudry (Amy), Florrie Rahn (Jack), Claira Lundstrom (Axel), and Violet Schram (Sid); brothers, Ben Morrison (Violet), Gordon Morrison (Minnie), Jim Morrison, Bill Morrison (Lily), and Charlie Lauzon (Bessie); twin brothers, Albert Lauzon and Philip Lauzon; daughter-in-law, Lena Brown (Vernon); brothers-in-law, Sylvester Armstrong and Harold Rissanen; and numerous extended family.
Visitation was held Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont., where funeral services were held Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Peggy Mason officiating.
Interment was held at the Stratton Cemetery, with a luncheon following at the Stratton Millennium Hall.
The pallbearers were Dale Ossachuk, Tony Armstrong, Randy Armstrong, Philip Schram, Reg Johnson, and Kenton Fifield.
