EDNA JEAN BRUNN “Ozhaawishkogaabwiig”

In loving memory of Edna Jean Brunn, 50, of Emo, Ontario who passed away at the Hotel Diue Grace Hospital in Windsor, Ontario on Saturday, September 5, 2009 with all her loved ones that made it to her bedside.
She fought long and hard in the I.C.U. with Wegeners disease but doctors were too late in finding it. They did all they could for her.
Edna was born on May 22, 1959 in Emo, Ontario to the late Harvey and Agnes Cochrane. She moved to Windsor to be with her granddaughter but not long after she felt something was wrong with herself. Then, suddenly, she fell critically ill.
She was one of the most kindest, caring person with a big heart. She loved to share a laugh, joking around with family and friends and anybody who knew her knew this.
She really enjoyed dancing pow-wow along with designing and making regalias. Some of her other favourite pastimes include drawing, reading, writing, painting, woodwork, fishing, travelling and just spending time with family and friends.
We were all in her heart and thoughts as she will be in ours forever and ever.
Edna was united in marriage on July 4, 1988 to Dennis who survives.
Also surviving are her children Patricia Bombay, Miles Bombay, Greg (Paula) Bombay Jr., and Dustin Bombay; all of Rainy River First Nations; her grandchildren Makaylah and Gage Bombay; her brothers Gary (Gloria) Cochrane and Larry (Barbara) Cochrane all of Grassy Narrows First Nation; and sister Judy Verishine of Rainy River First Nations; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Northwestern Ontario and Windsor, Ontario.
A traditional service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Rainy River First Nations Gymnasium. Gilbert Smith will officiate followed by interment in the family plot at Rainy River First Nations Cemetery.
A wake will be held on Wednesday afternoon, September 9, 2009 from 4 p.m. at the Rainy River First Nations Gymnasium.
