In loving memory of Edna Freeman, who passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001.
She was born on a farm in Mountain Iron, Mn. on Sept. 25, 1929. Edna was united in marriage to Allan Freeman on Nov. 1, 1946, and moved to Fort Frances, Ont. that same year to raise their family.
Edna loved her family and cherished spending time with them whenever they were together. She especially loved being up the lakes at the family cabin, fishing and spending time with the ones she loved most.
No matter how she was feeling, she always had a smile for everyone.
Although she had a limited knowledge of sports, when her family became involved, she became a big fan of Muskie hockey, and most recently took to the Borderland Thunder.
In earlier years, Edna was a leader in the Boy Scouts for 10 years. In later years, Edna worked briefly at the Rainy Lake Hotel, Bayview Motel, and Midtown Motel.
In recent years, she enjoyed bowling with her friends, and singing in the Zion Lutheran Church Choir.
She was predeceased by her parents, Everett Green in 1965 and Ella Green in 1975; husband, Allan Freeman, on Sept. 15, 1993; brother, Edgar Green in 1991; and by one infant son.
Edna is survived by her four children, Allen and Kathy of Brampton, Ont., and Everett, Lanny and wife, Sue, and Michael and wife, Cheryl, all of Fort Frances, Ont.; and six grandchildren, Noame and Mark Freeman, both of Toronto, Ont., Sarah Freeman and fiancé, Chris Kivimaki, and Beth Freeman and Neil Olson, all of Fort Frances, Ont., and Eric Pulley and fiancée, Danielle Tippett, and Christopher and wife, Kim, all of Kittrell, N.C.
Also surviving are one brother, Everett Green of International Falls, Mn.; one brother-in-law, James Freeman and Wilma of Thunder Bay, Ont.; one sister-in-law, Pearl Wood of Exeter, Ont.; family friends, Zelma Golnick of International Falls, Mn., and Ray, Shirley, and Lyle Dolph of Fort Frances, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 16, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Frances. Pastor Brian Keffer will officiate, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends may visit Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Frances.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Faragher, Harlan Faragher, Garfield Faragher, Darrell Green, Walter Green, and John Golnick.
Honourary pallbearers will be members of the Zion Lutheran Church Choir and close friends.
