Edna Georgina Lockhart

Edna Georgina Lockhart, 65, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Edna was born May 29, 1941 in Fort Frances to the late Elzear and Mary McPherson. She had lived most of her life in Fort Frances.
Edna graduated in 1993 from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay with a Honours Bachelor of Social Work degree and had worked as an education counsellor at Couchiching First Nation.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Couchiching First Nation. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and gardening.
Edna is survived by her two sons, Glenn and Gary (Sandra), both of Winnipeg, Man.; and her four grandchildren, Bridgid, Hilary, Cameron, and Dylon.
Also surviving are three brothers, Dennis, Archie, and Earl McPherson and their families; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was united in marriage to Charles Edward Lockhart, who predeceased her on Dec. 13, 1985. She also was predeceased by her son, Gene, on Nov. 23, 1987; her parents, Elzear and Mary McPherson; four sisters, Ethel Kenny, Millie Bruyere, Marjorie Morrisseau, and Phyllis Jameus; and three brothers, Rudolph, Leo, and Arnold McPherson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 15, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Couchiching First Nation. Fr. Francis Pudicherry will officiate, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends may visit prior to the funeral service on Friday at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
