EDMUND JOSEPH INDIAN

It is with great sadness to the family of Edmund Joseph Indian, also known as “Toy” to many, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 in Winnipeg, Man. at age 60.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, John and Bella Indian, and grandparents, Theresa and Bob Indian.
Edmund is survived by his daughter, Lisa Staneart (Eric); sons, Steven Indian (Carla) and Jaysen Indian (Violet); grandchildren, Lauren, Ally, Stephane, Theron, Anthony, Janay, Jayla, Purity, Mikaela, Julianna, Kaitlyn, and Makayla; and great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Shane, and Skye.
He also is survived by his wife, Arlene, and lovingly cared for by Isabelle.
Also surviving are his siblings, Lorraine McCready (Steve), Lois Allen, Sandra Indian (Al), Leona Kelly (Tim), Ernie Indian, Brian Indian (Rachel), and Joanne Indian (Fred); brothers-in-law, Harry Kelly, Tim Copenace, and Norman Allan Jr.; as well as many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
He also is survived by aunts and uncles, Paul Indian, Catherine Kelly, Dorothy Indian, Lucy Copenace, Anabelle Goodwin, and Annie Hawk.
In his earlier years, Edmund worked as a guide, he had a private airplane licence, and later worked as a carpenter with a certified building inspector licence.
He loved the outdoors and continued to net fish with grandson, Theron, until he moved to Winnipeg to be with his family.
He loved his sports, especially hockey. He encouraged his sons, grandsons, nephews, and nieces to excel in sports.
He will be remembered for his kind generosity and ability to make others laugh.
A wake service will begin Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Onigaming First Nation School gymnasium.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Onigaming First Nation School Gymnasium, with interment to follow at Onigaming First Nation.
The pallbearers will be family and friends.
