Edith Alice Tarling (nee Peters), 71, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009 after a short but valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.
Edith was the only daughter born to Walter and Winnifred Peters.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Peter, of Mactier, Ont.; dear son, Derek (Terry) of Sylvan Lake, Alta.; cherished daughter, Denise (Jeff Mckay) of Meadford, Ont.; and her much loved grandchildren, Nathan, Trent, Spencer, Summer, Aleah, and newest grandson, Parker, whose arrival after her passing has been a real blessing.
She also is survived by her four brothers, Gordon (Cathy) of Emo, Ont., Willard (Enid) Peters of Rainy River, Ont., Phillip (Rosella) of Red Deer, Alta., and Alvin (Leslie) of Winnipeg, Man. and their families.
Edith was born in Rainy River and lived her life to the fullest, with many friends both close to home and around the world.
She lived by the motto “Only one life will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”
A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, Aug. 31, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River, Ont.
