EDITH OLIVE BYE

Edith Olive Bye, 92, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at her residence Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999.
She was born Feb. 17, 1906 in Badger, Mn. to the late Thomas and Lillian Brannan.
In 1908 at the age of two, Edith moved with her family to North Branch, Ont. On Oct. 21, 1935, she was united in marriage to Leif Bye.
Following her husband’s death on Jan. 5, 1973, Edith moved to Emo, Ont., where she lived until moving to Rainycrest in Fort Frances in July, 1992.
She was a great gardener, loved to do her own canning up until the age of 80, and was very family oriented.
She was predeceased by two children in infancy; four brothers; and one sister.
Edith is survived by her four children, Milton Bye and wife, Wilma, of Thunder Bay, Ont., Ethel and husband, Les Helliar, of Nestor Falls, Ont., Judy Brennen and Gerald Fadden of Rainy River, Ont., and Harley Bye and wife, Gloria, of Dryden, Ont.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999 at 2 p.m. at the Stratton United Church in Stratton, Ont. Pastor Pat White officiated, with interment in Pineridge Cemetery in North Branch, Ont.
Friends visited prior to services Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the Stratton United Church.
Pallbearers were Bradley Haw, Allan Haw, Melvin Brannan, Alvin Haw, Bradley Brannan, and Howard Haw.
