In loving memory of Edith Jeffrey, age 76 years, of Dryden, who died in the Dryden Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, March 28, 2000.
Edith is survived by her husband of 52 years Ed Jeffrey whom she married June 19, 1947, her daughters: Robbie (Melvin) Brannan, Linda Byer, April (Dave) Saunders, and Sandy Baxter, by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as by one brother and five sisters.
Edith’s parents John and Jessie Hyatt, one sister and three brothers predeceased her.
Born in Big Fork, Ontario, Edith lived in the Fort Frances area for 68 years. While there she was a member of the Big Fork Community Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Emo Royal Canadian Legion. She moved to Dryden in 1992 and joined the Dryden Royal Canadian Legion. She served with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps from November of 1943 until January of 1946. Edith was a dedicated wife and mother and she enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening, fishing, sewing, quilting, her roses, picking berries, canning, bingo and gambling.
Funeral services for Edith Jeffrey were held Saturday, April 1, 2000 at 2 p.m. in the Moffat Chapel with Rev. Carl Triskle officiating.
Interment followed in the Dryden Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday, March 31, from 2-6 p.m. in the Moffat Chapel.
