EDGAR ALBERT BORG

Edgar Albert Borg, 85, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011.
He was born June 16, 1926 in Tiskilwa, Ill. to Axel and Connie Borg. He married Mildred I. Fenwick on Sept. 20, 1947.
Edgar was predeceased by his wife; three daughters, Deborah, Connie, and Rebecca; and two sons, Abraham and Michael.
He is survived by Robert (Odette) Borg of Kenora, Ont., John (Denise) Borg of Thunder Bay, Ont., Frederick (Deloris) Borg of Sioux Narrows, Ont., Robin (Jason) Engel of Tiskilwa, Ill., and Lisa Borg of Thunder Bay, Ont.; and 10 grandchildren.
Edgar served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on a search-and-rescue vessel in the Pacific. He also was an accomplished writer and public speaker over the WZOE radio station in Princeton, Ill. throughout the 1960s.
In 1967, Edgar moved his family to Sioux Narrows, Ont. He then moved to Finland, Ont. in 1973 and resided there until moving to his current address at the Queen Street Manor in Emo, Ont.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont. with Rev. Eileen Bragg officiating.
Interment took place in the Finland Cemetery.
