EDDIE ZUB

It is with heavy hearts the family of Edward Ted Zub announces his sudden passing on Sunday, July 20, 2008.
Eddie was born July 23, 1925 to John and Katriana Zub. He resided in Fort Frances, Ont. all his life, except for his time served in the RCNVR (Navy) during WWII. He enlisted in the navy at an early age of 17 with a note from his mother.
Shortly after the war, he met and married the love of his life, Jean (nee Huyton), on May 1, 1946. Together they raised two children.
Eddie worked for more than 40 years in the electrical department and as a supervisor of capital projects until his retirement in 1990.
He loved being at his cabin in he summers, and enjoyed watching any new construction projects that were going on. Most of all, he loved being a Grandpa and treasured his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eddie is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Diana) of Courtenay, B.C., and his daughter, Janis (Colin) French of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also left to cherish his memories are his grandchildren, Jeffrey Zub and daughter, Jolyne, and Tammy (Joe) Draga and daughters, Kayla and Jessica, all of Calgary, Alta., Kristy Zub of Courtenay, B.C., Lisa French and daughters, Courtney and Shaylin Moore, of Thunder Bay, Ont., Todd (Melanie) French and children, Jonnathan, Heather, Anjelica, Robyn, and Alexandria, of Devlin, Ont., and Amanda French (Scott) and daughter, Marra, of Fort Frances, Ont.
He also is survived by his brother, Roy (Joyce) Zub; sisters-in-law, Ellie Zub and Erma (Robert) Boland, all of Fort Frances, Ont., and Johanne Huyton of Pitt Meadows, B.C.; and his good friend and nephew, Paul Ewatcha, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Jean, of 59 years. He also was predeceased by his parents; sister, Nettie (Bill) Galandzy; brothers, Alex (Katherine), Mike, and Harry (Sally); and niece, Tracy Zub.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 11 a.m., celebrated by Pastor Brian Keffer, at the Zion Lutheran Church on Scott Street in Fort Frances.
A prayer service will be offered at the church on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 7-9 p.m.
The pallbearers will be Todd French, Paul Ewacha, Larry Arch, and Scott McPherson. The honourary pallbearers will be Warren Zub, Roy Galanzy, Sonja Arch, and Jerry Zub.
