Dwight Wakelin, 76, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
He was born July 20, 1937 in Fort Frances to Franklin and Nina Wakelin.
He grew up in Fort Frances and, after leaving high school, was united in marriage to Linda. Together they had two children, Jason and Joy.
He was a stubborn and determined man who believed his good fortune laid elsewhere, so he left Fort Frances, working and travelling all over western Canada and into the United States.
Upon retirement, he returned to his roots, settling back in Fort Frances.
Dwight leaves behind his brother, Richard and wife, Sylvia; and nephews, Jonathan and Matthew and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Morley; and niece, Anne.
Cremation has taken place, and his remains will be interred with his father in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 10 a.m.
