It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Douglas Allan Miller, D.M.D., at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. on Aug. 2, 2003 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Doug was born July 18, 1933 in Toronto, Ont. He was united in marriage to Frances Marilyn (Marnee) Innes on Sept. 24, 1955 in Toronto.
He was associated with the R.C.A.F. for 12 years as an aircrew pilot, retiring with the rank of Flight Lieutenant.
Doug then attended United College in science and the Faculty of Dental Medicine, graduating in 1965. He practised with the Manitoba Department of Health and also had private practises in Dryden and Fort Frances.
Marnee and Doug retired in 1993 and spent the time in Fort Frances and at their camp at Bears Pass.
He is survived by his wife and best friend for nearly 48 years, Marnee, and his beloved daughter, Laura Lynne.
Also surviving are his sister, Shirley (Bob) Richardson; brother-in-law, Gordon Innes; sister-in-law, Margaret Innes; nieces and nephews, Terry (Diane), Janet (John), Sherri (Doug), Tom, Carolyn (Dan), and Michael (Vivian); and great nieces and nephews, Brad, Mark, Teri Lynn, Douglas, Christopher, Katie, and Jake.
Interment will take place in St. Andrews-St. James Cemetery in Orillia, Ont. with many of his antecedents.
