Surrounded by his family Douglas Johnson, 69, peacefully passed away at Emo Health Centre on November 8, 2022.
Doug was born on September 21, 1953 in Fort Frances, Ontario.
His greatest passions were his family, friends, and childhood home in Pinewood, up on the hill. (“The Johnson Farm”)
He loved “the bush”. This was Doug’s “Happy Place” where he felt safe, peaceful, and close to nature.
Doug is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Sharon, of 48 years. His children, Brian (Sowmya); Ariya, Sahana and Laelia Johnson. Janene (Jay); Cameron and Teagan Mosbeck. Julie Johnson (Elijah). Brother, Reg Johnson (Elizabeth); Kelly, Cindy, Jeremy, and families. Sister, Karen Pelepetz (Dennis); Dwayne, Laurie, and families. As well as other countless friends and relatives both near and far.
Doug was predeceased by his parents, Keith and Florrie, and also his baby sister.
His sense of humour and mischievous personality touched many of his friends, family, and co-workers.
Doug’s workplaces included Caland Ore, Mattobi, Steep Rock and Armstrong Mines. As well as the Fort Frances Paper Mill.
Doug often shared stories of his many memorable adventures throughout the years.

As requested by Doug, a private celebration of life with his immediate family will be held at a
later date.
