DOUGLAS GEORGE McINTYRE

Douglas George McIntyre, 56, a resident of Atikokan, Lot #1 Calm Lake, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Doug spent most of his working years with the Ministry of Transportation as a maintenance co-ordinator both in his native southwestern Ontario and here in the northwest.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and playing his snare drum in parades with the Fort Frances Pipes & Drums.
Doug’s favourite pastimes were spending time with his wife, Joanne, and friends and listening to the call of the loons while sitting on his deck.
Doug was a member of the Granite Lodge AF&AM and Ledger Preceptory KT in Fort Frances, Ont., also of the Valley of Thunder Bay, Scottish Rite, and several other Masonic organizations.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George William McIntyre of Forest, Ont.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne, stepdaughter, Brandee Bang (Lyle Steele), and his step-granddaughter, Jaida Steele, all of Atikokan, Ont.; and sister, Jacqueline, and family of southern Ontario.
According to Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
There will be an open memorial service and celebration of his life on Saturday, March 5, 2001 at 1 p.m. at the Masonic Temple in Fort Frances.
Everyone is invited to attend.
