On Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, following a brief illness, Dorothy Stewart (nee Loveday) passed away at Thunder Bay Health Sciences Centre in Thunder Bay, Ont. at the age of 58.
Beloved best friend and spouse of Dennis for 41 years.
Dorothy will be sorrowfully missed by her sons, Brian, Calvin, and Chadwick of Atikokan, Ont., and daughter, Treana of Ottawa, Ont.
She was the devoted grandmother of Dylan, Melissa, Nicole, Julie, Ashley, Jonathan, Heather, Samantha, Adam, Robert, Justin, and Kierha (all Stewart); and loving daughter-in-law of Jessie Stewart.
Dorothy also is survived by her sisters, Edna (John) Sexsmith of Windsor, Ont. and Debbie Loveday of Thunder Bay, Ont.; brothers, Harold (Ellen) Loveday of Atikokan, Ont., Clifford Loveday of Fort Frances, Ont., and Charlie (Trudy) Loveday of Atikokan, Ont.; brother-in-law, Stanley (Pat) Stewart of North Bay, Ont.; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Chris Loveday and Mamie Pietila Loveday; and father-in-law, Alester Stewart.
Dorothy was born in Emo, Ont. and attended Mather Potts School and Fort Frances High School prior to her marriage to Dennis. Dorothy and Dennis moved to Atikokan in 1965 and have resided there since.
Respecting Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
Her remains will be cremated and buried in the special spot in the woods which she already had picked out as the place where she wished to spend eternity.
The family wishes to acknowledge and express their gratitude for the excellent care Dorothy received during her illness.
