It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Dorothy Dungey.
She passed away peacefully on May 26, 2007 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital with family by her side at 96 years of age.
She was born April 13, 1911.
She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Norma Erickson and Marlene Yuill; one son Vernon Dungey; one daughter-in-law, Evelyn Dungey; and one sister-in-law, Elsie Ewen.
Also mourning her passing are 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all.
She was predeceased by her husband, John, on Sept. 23, 1964; parents, Robert and Matilda Ewen; brothers, Albert, Clayton, Earl, and Archie; sisters, Beatrice and Nora; son, Arthur Dungey; daughter-in-law, Carol Dungey; and son-in-law, Thomas Yuill.
Dorothy loved to cook, crochet, and knit, as well as to plant and tend to her many flower gardens.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 2 p.m. at St. George’s Anglican Church in Emo, Ont.
In lieu of flowers, in memriam donations may be made to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or the charity of your choice.
