Caul, Dorothy

It is with deep sadness that the family of Dorothy “Dot” Caul, 97, of Fort Frances, Ont., announces her passing on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances.
Dorothy was born Aug. 20, 1918 in Fort Frances to the late Harry and Nellie Gadd.

Then at the age of 15, she went to work for Caul Dairy, where she met her future husband, Harry Gadd.
Dorothy later moved to Hamilton, Ont. and lived there for six years while Harry was enlisted. She then returned to working the farm and raising the kids.
They then bought their own farm and shop—Harry worked the shop while Dorothy worked the farm. After 20 years, they sold the farm and moved to town.
She then worked at numerous places, including Crawford’s Camp, the Shady Roost, the Makabi, and the Ministry of Lands and Forests as a cook while Harry was building roads.
She enjoyed travelling, fishing, camping, and gardening. Her passion was going to the casino to gamble.
