DORLEEN MARVELLE BARRETT-CONE

Sadly, the family announces the passing of Marvelle Cone, 71, of Fort Frances, Ont. on Thursday April 22, 2010 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
Marvelle was born Oct. 29, 1938 in Emo, Ont. to Marvin and Ardell Brigham.
She had resided in Mine Centre, Pickle Lake, and back to Mine Centre, and moved to Fort Frances last fall.
Marvelle loved her garden and flowers. She picked berries, canned them, and made jelly and jams. She also loved to bake bread and buns, which everyone appreciated.
She couldn’t wait for the hummingbirds to return. She had a great love for animals, especially cats.
If you went to visit, it was Christmas 365 days of the year!
Marvelle enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, and especially for the coffee group at the manor. Bingo, playing Smear, and doing crosswords were some of her favourite activities.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Ken, of Fort Frances, Ont.; daughters, Evie (Gerrald) Hartlin and Suzie (Roy) Sigurdson, all of Emo, Ont.; and also her extended family, Elizabeth (Marshall) and Wendy (Blaine) and families.
She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Noreen (Dan), Greg (Marie), Adam (Donna), Derek, and Matt.
She also is survived by siblings, Doug (Jane) Brigham, Ed (Kathy) Brigham, Donna (Darin) Toews, Barb (Brian) Murray, and Jerry Brigham.
Marvelle was predeceased by her parents, Marvin and Ardell; son, Georgie; and sister, Teddi-Ann Myberg.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, with Rev. Barb Miller officiating.
Interment will take place in the Barwick Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Ida Colgan, Dorie Dennis, Sheila McMillen, and Helen Cone.
