Doris Margaret Marie Raun, 94, of Cloquet, Mn., passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet.
She was born on April 15, 1923 in La Vallee, Ont., the daughter of Harold and Marie Green.
Doris married Maynard Raun on Sept. 18, 1946 in Fort Frances, Ont.
Doris worked in a bomb shell filling plant in Quebec during World War II, had various jobs in retail, and then was the owner/operator of D’s Fabric Care in Cloquet for 25 years, retiring in 1992.
After her retirement, she moved to Arkansas for 10 years, moved to Duluth in 2003, and then returned to Cloquet in 2005.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet.
Doris loved to dance, especially square dancing, as well as play cards and go wilderness camping with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Maynard; daughter, Cheryl Jones; and grandson, Gabriel Vogt.
Doris is survived by her children, Richard (Cindy) Raun of Cloquet, Mn., Beryl Ann (Al) Vogt of Cook, Mn., Jeffrey (Jane) Raun of St. Charles, Ill., and Timothy Raun of Duluth, Mn.; Cheryl’s husband, David Jones of Willmar, Mn.; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by her sisters, Maxine Plumridge and Ann (Dave) Ostby, both of Fort Frances, Ont.; and other extended family and friends.
