Peacefully at the Emo Hospital on Sunday, August 12, 2007, Doris E. Tausendfrende (nee Hartnell) of R.R. #2, Devlin, Ont., passed away at the age of 86.
    Doris was born in Blue Township, Ont. to the late Walter and Mary Hartnell. Doris and her late husband Leslie farmed and raised their family south of Devlin.
    When her children were young, Doris was involved as 4-H leader and for many years, both Leslie and Doris drove school bus. It was a job which enjoyed to the full. She became like a mother to all her school bus kids.
    In her later years, she made five trips to England where she met many of her father’s long-lost relatives. She loved to travel, enjoyed needlework and gardening.
    Doris was a pillar of the local church, attending the Devlin Gospel Lighthouse. Her faith in God remained strong.
    She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Evelyn (Terry) Hoffman of Maple Grove, Min.; sons Ron (Laura) of Devlin; Herman of Toronto, Ont.; Dan of Fort Frances; and Duane, also of Devlin, who cared so well for her in her declining years. Also surviving are six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
    She is also survived by brother Fred (Vivian) Hartnell; sisters Emily, Embury and Lorna Wrolstad; sister-in-law Jeanne Hartnell, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Leslie; infant daughter Jane; and brother Walter Hartnell.
    Friends and family will be received at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont. on Thursday, August 16, 2007 from 9 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. with Delbert Barker officiating. Pallbearers will be Ron Tausendfrende Jr., Alvin Hoffman, Dale Hoffman, Lyndon Hughes, Wally Hartnell and Paul Peters.
    Interment will be in Boxalder Cemetery in La Vallee Township. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
