DOREEN LUCILLE WREGGITT

Doreen Wreggitt, 69, of Bear Pass, Ont., passed away suddenly Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
She was born June 8, 1935 in Dryden, Ont. to the late Louis and Annie Nymark. In her younger years, Doreen lived in Thunder Bay, Ont., where in 1960 she met Ray. In 1970, she was united in marriage to him.
They later moved to Stevens, Ont. to live until moving to Camp 15, where Doreen worked as Cookee at the camp for American Can Corp. until she retired. The family then moved to Manitouwadge, Ont. for a time until moving to Bear Pass in 1985.
Doreen was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29 Ladies Auxiliary in Fort Frances. She also volunteered her time making perogies and quilting with her many friends for the Halkirk Fire Department.
Doreen also enjoyed cross-country skiing, fishing, and long walks in earlier days. She was a devoted mother to her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and to her lifelong partner, Ray.
She liked nothing better than to cook and make sure everyone was fed, and to knit socks and mitts, and drop everything to lend a hand or ear. She loved to laugh and had the funniest sayings.
Faith in God helped her through the rough times, and she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She was predeceased by one brother, Gary Nymark.
Doreen is survived by her husband, Ray Wreggitt of Bear Pass, Ont.; and six children, Margaret Ann (Don) Hill of Kakabeka Falls, Ont., Lynda (Terry) Mann of Emo, Ont., Tyrone (Janice) Wreggitt of Kakabeka Falls, Ont., Terry Wreggitt of Atikokan, Ont., Keith (Tina) Wreggitt of Cloud Bay, Ont., and Kenneth (Monique) Wreggitt of Manitouwadge, Ont.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, D’Arcy (Wayne) Jutila, Arlayna Hill, Brendon Hill, Jason (Lucy) Mann, Tami (Robin) LeBlanc, Tyler Mann and friend, Tess Galusha, Dylan Wreggitt, Amanda Wreggitt, Shane Fritz Ray Wreggitt, and Tim and Tabitha Wreggitt; one great-granddaughter, Kennah LeBlanc; one sister, Bernice Fortier of Medicine Hat, Alta.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ont., with Rev. Marietta Marshall officiating.
Honourary pallbearers were Doreen’s grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

The tears keep streaming down my face,
Because of the heartbreaking news,
That you’ve left this place.
I’m in denial from what has happened,

The swimming and family warmth,

You brought wisdom and love,
And you knew exactly how to use it,

You brought light to our lives,

You have definitely left a solid imprint in this world,
And because of that, you will always be remembered,
And I will promise you that my life will be untwirled.
So now as the angels lift you to heave,
Which is exactly where you should be,
We thank you for everything that you’ve given.
We’ll miss you.
And we can never make that feeling go away,
But we know you’ll always stop by and say “hi,”
No matter what time of day.
I promise that I will never say the “goodbye” words,
Because that not the words you’d want to hear,
But rather “so long for now, and our next meeting is what I’m looking towards.
And to God I must ask,
Please look after her and keep her loving spirit free,
So that keeping her family together, warm and happy, will be her only task.
We’ll miss you so much,
Until we meet again.
