Dora Oettinger, 92, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Littlefork Care Center surrounded by her loving family.
Dora was born April 23, 1919 in International Falls.
The former Dora DeMarchi married Gerald C. Oettinger on June 23, 1941.
She was a homemaker, belonged to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, and was a previous member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Dora also volunteered at the Falls Good Samaritan Society for many years as a hairdresser.
She and her husband, Jerry, were long-time members of the local Moose Lodge. Dora also was an avid knitter and a wonderful cook.
She loved her grandchildren and her family, and was an avid dog-lover.
Dora was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Genevieve; husband, Gerald; and sisters, Lena Parbst and Alma Christie.
Dora is survived by her sons, Don (Myrna) of Lakeville, Mn. and Roger (Gloria) of International Falls, Mn; daughter, Lynn (Victor) Davis of Fort Frances, Ont.; eight grandchildren, Chris, Kara, and Annie Oettinger, Roger and Scott Oettinger, and Victor, Angela, and April Davis; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Aldo (Shirley) DeMarchi.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Green-Larsen Mortuary in International Falls, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary offered at 6:30 p.m.
Mass of the Resurrection will be offered Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls, with interment at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
