It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Dora May Snider on Oct. 23, 2003 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Dora was born Sept. 1, 1915 in Pinewood, Ont. to the late Alex and Mary Greer. She moved to Fort Frances with her family in 1920, where she remained the rest of her life.
She was united in marriage to the late Roy Stanton Snider in 1933. She worked for many years in the kitchen at La Verendrye General Hospital.
Dora enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking. No one could stop by without sitting down for a bite to eat. Dora was especially fond of her family, and was extremely proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dora was predeceased by two sisters, Winifred Reardon of Toronto, Ont. and Catherine Greer of Fort Frances, Ont.; brother, Jack Greer of Atikokan, Ont.; daughter, Mildred Zolub of Arborg, Man.; son, James Snider of Fort Frances, Ont.; and her infant daughter, Thelma Snider of Fort Frances, Ont.
Left to mourn her passing are her children, son-in-law, Nick Zolub of Arborg, Man., Pat and Joan Snider of Atikokan, Ont., Bill Snider of Fort Frances, Ont., Louise Grant of Thunder Bay, Ont., Doug Snider of Fort Frances, Ont., Ralph and Judy Snider of Cranbrook, B.C., Beverley and John Falloon of Devlin, Ont., Catherine Snider of Terrace, B.C., Lyle and Leathia Snider of Fort Frances, Ont., and Robert and Rosie Snider of International Falls, Mn.
She also leaves behind 25 grandchildren, Debbie, Tina, Loretta, Trisha, Tad, Tracey, Trenton, Karen, Kereasa, Laurie, Glen, Tim, Terry, Travis, Sheri, Cindy, John, Rick, Chris, Ron, Tim, Steven, Penny, Candy, and Nicky; and 41 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Friends visited one hour prior to the service.
Fr. Rey Ronquillo officiated, with a private interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
The pallbearers were Tim Snider, Chris Snider, Rick Falloon, John (Jack) Falloon, Anthony Falloon, and Jesse Zacharis.
The honourary pallbearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
