DONNA VIOLET WASYKOWSKI

Donna Violet Wasykowski, 87, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.

Donna was born on October 11, 1934, in Fort Frances to Marshall and Gladys Bolton. She grew up in Fort Frances and chose to make it her lifelong home. She was united in marriage to William Wasykowski on September 18, 1953, and together they raised a family and spent many years at the cottage. She worked as an accountant for Dunwoody’s before joining the Board of Education. She was an active member of St. John’s Anglican Church. She also served with the Anglican Ladies Group and was a member of the local Sorority. She was a 50-plus member of the Horticultural Society, including acting as a judge. She loved to garden, especially tending to her flowers.

She will be greatly missed by her sons Robert and John (Joanne) Wasykowski; grandchildren John, Benjamin (Natalie), Charmane (Carter) and Ashley (Terry); great-grandchildren Axel and Zelda; sisters Marlene Lowry and Shirley (Barry) Gaylord; goddaughter and niece Pamela (Brian) and their children Noah and Joshua; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Donna was predeceased by her parents; husband Bill; infant daughter Cheryl; and sister Joan Westover.

Cremation has taken place and graveside service will be held this summer.
