With great sadness and sorrow, the family of Donna Hurd (nee Morgan) announces her passing on Thursday, Sept. 3 2015 at Riverside Health Care in Fort Frances Ont.
With a soft and gentle whisper, her Lord called her name and she was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus.
With her husband and loving daughters at her side, Mom’s courageous battle with cancer took her from us at the age of 60. Family and friends were always the most important to Mom she was always a great listener.
Mom will be remembered for her sense of humour, her kindness and acceptance of others, her calm approach to life’s dilemmas, and her willingness to help others in their times of need.
Mom also was very kind-hearted and compassionate with her overwhelming love for animals; over the years taking in and caring for many stray animals in need of a home and love.
Mom was born in Thunder Bay, Ont. and lived there most of her life. She later moved to Fort Frances with her husband to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Margret Morgan; sister, Veronica Morgan; and daughter, Angela Hurd, all of Thunder Bay, Ont.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Warner Hurd, and her three loving children, Donald (Amanda) Zaparniuk, Lesley (Lindsay) Bell, Rhonda (Jason) Allan, and daughter, Marilyn Power, of Halifax, N.S.
Mom also will be loving remembered by her 18 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Mom also leaves behind her beloved pets, “The Boys” Boomer, Bear, and Mow mow.
Mom also will be greatly missed by other family members whom she cherished and loved beyond measure, including her sisters, Christina (Joey) Scott and Virginia (Bill) Conway and brothers, Donald and Bruce Morgan, of Thunder Bay, Ont.; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Ted (Linda) Smith and Carol (Morris) Leach; special friends, Rodger and Betty William, Kevin McCauley and family, and Jim and Elaine Guyan of Nova Scotia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
The pallbearers were Jason Allan, Mike George, Roger William, Kevin McCauley, Dan Smeeth, and Jack Ducharme.
The honourary pallbearers were grandchildren Dillon Allan, Chelsea Allan, Liam Allan, Jastra Bell, and Grayson Maxton-George.
