It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Easton announces his passing on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Don was born on April 24, 1935 to Stewart and Ila Easton. He grew up in Fort Frances.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Emery in 1968 and together they settled in Atikokan, Ont. He worked at the mine for 12 years before they returned to Fort Frances, where he worked at the local paper mill for the balance of his career as a millwright.
He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and hunting. He and Barb spent many hours together on Rainy Lake and the numerous other lakes in the region.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stewart and Ila Easton; wife, Barbara on May 12, 2003; and brothers, George and Jack.
Don leaves behind his sons, Larry and wife, Wanda, and their son, Chace, and Stewart and wife, Jane, and their children, Scarlett and Coen; brother, Jim Easton; sisters-in-law, Martha and husband, Jerry Karsnia, Alfreda Easton, and Ruby Easton; brother-in-law, Jerry and wife, Connie Emery; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Pastor Brian Keffer officiating.
Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
