DONALD NORMAN ROTH

Peacefully, at his residence on Thursday, June 5, 2008, Donald N. Roth of Fort Frances, Ont. passed away at the age of 74.
Donald was born Aug. 2, 1933 in Rainy River, Ont. to Norman and Germaine Roth. He resided in the Fort Frances area, working at the local paper mill until retirement.
Donald was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, wood carving, and being a gunsmith. He volunteered for the local NDP during elections, was a member of the Fort Frances Sportsmen’s Club, and active in the District Labor Council.
Donald was very proud of being a Stationary Engineer.
He will be lovingly remembered by his dear and special friend, Mollie Crozier of Emo, Ont.; his children, Vicki (Wayne) Jewell of Fort Frances, Ont., Don (Patti) Roth of Fort Frances, Ont., Glenda (Ken) Hatfield of Vermilion Bay, Ont., Colleen (Dale) Brunetta of Fort Frances, Ont., Randi (Ray) Gladu of Fort Frances, Ont., Diana (Lauri) Kangas of Caledon, Ont., and Jamie (Tina) Roth of Fort Frances, Ont., and their mother, Vivian Roth; and his mother, Germaine Roth of Fort Frances, Ont.
Donald also will be sadly missed by his 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by sisters, June Hacking, Geraldine (Bill) Cullen, and Ellen (Harry) Belbas; brothers, Harold (Pricilla) Roth, Dwaine (Leona) Roth, and Earl (Maureen) Roth; and many nieces and nephews.
Donald was predeceased by his father, Norman Roth; and brothers-in-law, Ernie Multimaki and John Hacking.
A celebration of Donald’s life will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Frances, with Rev. Brian Keffer officiating.
Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
