DONALD KUCHMA

Donald Kuchma, 84, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
Don was born Aug. 13, 1923 in Stuartburn, Man. He moved to Fort Frances in 1956, where he had lived since. He had worked as a bartender for a few years and then began working for the C.N. until he retired in 1988.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all he took pride in his garden. He also enjoyed cooking and canning. He enjoyed spending his retirement with his family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife, Eleanor, of 49 years and his six children, Diane (Ron) Grabowski, Penny (Garry Audette), and Kathy (Gilles) Bois, all of Fort Frances, Ont., Wendy (Rod) Woodgate of Devlin, Ont., Richard (Rose) Kuchma of Parry Sound, Ont., and and Kevin (Diana) Kuchma of Lethbridge, Alta.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Peter (Francis) of Manitoba and Terry (Millie) of Rainy River, Ont.; four sisters-in-law, Olga, Elma, Stella, and Terese (Leo) Eberts; special aunt Lena Tesarsky of Rainy River, Ont.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother, Helen in 1974; four brothers, Roman, Morris, Bill, and Nick; and a granddaughter, Christa.
A celebration of Don’s life was held Monday, June 9, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiated, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends visited with the family prior to the service at Green Funeral Home on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time.
The honourary pallbearers were Chad Grabowski, Dean Grabowski, David Woodgate, Travis Bois, Eric Bois, and Alex Kuchma.
