After a courageous battle, Don Ewald, 57, of Barwick, Ont. passed away, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Emo Health Centre in Emo, Ont.
Don was born Feb. 18, 1959 in Prince Rupert, B.C. to Jack and Verna Ewald.
He was united in marriage to Carol Bragg on Nov. 26, 1982.
Don worked for the Carpenters Union #1669 for 30 years. He loved woodworking and carving.
Don also enjoyed hunting, ice-fishing, camping, and spending time at “the farm” with his family and friends. Those who knew Don well loved him.
Don will be greatly missed by his wife, Carol; daughters, Jessika (Brian) Smith and Myca Ewald; and grandchildren, Alexis, Anthony, Michaela, and Hunter.
He also is survived by his father-in-law, Norbert (Jean) Bragg; brothers, Darcy (Carol) Ewald and David (Linda) Ewald; brothers-in-law, George Bragg, Don (Jo) Bragg, Charlie Bragg, Murray (Jeanette) Bragg, Larry Bragg, and Irwin (Elaine) Hughes; sisters-in-law, Iris (Ken) Shute and Melanie (Scott) Bragg; numerous nieces and nephews; and his honourary brother and sister, Cliff and Cheryl Hagen.
Don was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Verna Ewald; brother, Daniel Ewald; mother-in-law, Irene Bragg; brother-in-law, Norman Shute; and sister-in-law, Sheila Devlin.
A time of fellowship was held Sunday March 6, 2016 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Emo.
