“Today my red ribbon is awarded to a longtime friend, Mr. Don Wagner, husband, father, and grandfather who passed away Friday at a relatively young age.
“Former truck driver at Abitibi, he enjoyed his workmates and his job, loved to spend time in the great outdoors, and quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
“Retired due to poor health but never lost his sense of humour, nor his joy for and love of life. A great role model who was always there for family, friends and always willing to lend a hand up–totally humble, honest, inspiring, caring, and compassionate.
“Don set the bar high simply because of who he was–the world lost a great man. I will miss him–our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with his wonderful family.
“RIP my friend. You deserve this award.”
